| Short Description of Instrument |
The DEMMI was designed in order to measure changes in mobility of the hospitalized elderly population across different settings from the acute to chronic range and from clinical to community. |

Psychometrics: good reliability, validity and low floor/ceiling effect
Comprised of 15 hierarchical mobility items:

| Scoring |
Each item is scored on a scale from 0 (unable) to 2 (independent) and summed for a raw score, which is converted to a DEMMI score using a conversion table. |
