| Short Description of Instrument |
The Impact of Events Scale (IES) was developed to assess the experience of a traumatic event but was not originally designed for use with children. It has since been revised to be used with children ages 8 years and older who are able to read.
The three subscales are:
Intrusion (4 items)
Avoidance (4 items)
Arousal (5 items)
