The examinee should position both hands over both Shift keys during the TEC administration. Tasks must be completed once initiated. Breaks during task administration or failure of the examinee to complete tasks will result in invalid Factor, Summary and Task scores. General introduction: "This is a test of how well you can pay close attention to pictures of different things and put the things into a Red Box or a Blue box. There are six (four) parts of this test. At the start of each part, you will learn how to sort the pictures that you will see on the screen. Sometimes you will press a RED button on the computer to put pictures into the Red box. Sometimes your will press the BLUE button on the computer to put pictures into the Blue box. Sometimes you won't press any button at all because the picture on the screen is already in a box. You will get to practice putting pictures in the right box before starting each part of the test. I will help to make sure that you understand what to do. Please pay close attention to the instructions. Do your best on the practice to make sure you know how to sort the pictures. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully. Ask me if you have any questions. The instructions may seem harder for some parts than others, so just remember to pay attention to the pictures on the screen and try your best to put the things in the correct boxes. Sometimes kids worry because they make mistakes and think they are not doing well. Everyone makes mistakes on this test. That is normal. Just do the best that you can."
